Meditation

“Meditation is an exercise which usually involves the individual in turning attention or awareness to dwell upon a single object, sound, concept, or experience” (West 457).

Whether with a teacher or by oneself, meditation has proven to have a positive impact on one’s well being. The positive messages spread in the process most likely in “mantra” form allow one to experience “enlightenment”. Meditation has been used to help people with “stress, pain, and anxiety-related conditions” (Hoffman et al.). The idea of using this method is because focusing in on one thought can help the other thoughts to not be as persistent. Therefore, this will make you less stressed out. The mindfulness of meditation can help your mindset.

Hypnotherapy

For more severe cases like quitting smoking or eating healthier, the state of hypnosis can be the key to acquiring the mindset that you need. The concept of hypnosis is that your imagination dominates your mind of rational thoughts. The idea is that you bring some thought into fruition in your
brain and believe in it so hard that your body makes the thought come true.

Doctor vs. Machine Experiment

A study in a surgery room shows the impact of mindset. This study involved two factors being compared: patients injected with morphine by doctors and those injected by machines. And, the result was that those injected by doctors had less pain. This is because of the human interaction that occurred which sent signals to the brain of being cared for.

This study shows the huge impact of our mindset as it can contribute to our physical well-being. If you’re more interested in this concept

motivated advances the number of achievements that will transpire.

Be Flexible

Sure, hard work is a large part of learning, but tweaking certain aspects of your learning process is key. For example, you’re studying with flashcards for a big test and then flunk it. Accordingly, instead of using flashcards you try rewriting your notes twice.

Believe you can always be better

We all know those kind of people who think they know it all or know better than you. No matter what, human beings are always capable of learning more. Therefore, the most knowledgeable and wisest people have this mindset that they can always improve and learn new things. Follow this lead of the growth mindset not the fixed mindset.

Accept Input from others

This strategy allows you to improve because others often know more than you. And, not accepting this input can affect you negatively as you are stuck in our own brain not learning anything new. So, accept the input in order to grow.

Focus on learning processes

In order to be a functional, successful human being, you must always be focused on learning often. And, to learn often, you have to have hard work. Therefore, keep your mind open and master new concepts like it’s your job.

thrive on challenges and setbacks

Oftentimes, when people mess up or fail at a goal, they go into a depression. That attitude does not go along with the growth mindset. Instead, these failures should be viewed as a rain check or little bump in the road. A positive mindset leads to positive results in the long run.
